Bristol City Council Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service
Benefits advice and claims for older people living in sheltered housing; flats rented from the council or a housing association, there may be a ‘house manager’ living on site or floating support. Initial benefit checks and advice by phone, full details needed , then waiting list for home visits to carry out claims if required.
Also benefits advice and assistance, including representation at appeals, for:
- Deaf people who use British Sign Language
- Other people with severe sensory impairment
- People who receive Home or Day Care from Bristol City Council
- Foster Carers
- May also be able to assist other people, if they need to claim disability benefits and they cannot use any local or specialist advice service. Home visits provided, waiting list operates.
We can only assist people living within the Bristol City Council boundary.

Training and telephone advice, for front line staff in Bristol City Council.
Welfare Rights and Money Advice Support Services working with Supporting People-funded 'short term' services. Mainly training and advice/assistance for support workers.
