St Paul's Advice Centre
St Pauls Advice Centre provides free, independent, impartial and confidential legal advice services.
From 2011 we are delivering Legal Advice and support to residents of East Bristol via outreach in Easton, Barton Hill and Fishponds in addition to covering our historical areas of St Pauls, St Judes, St Werburghs, St Agnes and Montpelier via our main St Pauls office.
We provide specialist level advice in relation to Debts and Welfare Benefits including Income, Health and Housing Benefits, and representation for Social Security Tribunal hearings. We may be able to see clients outside our normal area for these specialist areas of law and welcome referrals from other agencies.
We also have a team of Generalist advisers who can advise on a wide range of issues including Housing, Employment, Immigration (limited availability at level 1 only) and Consumer Law. We have both a Generalist and a Debt adviser who are Somali speakers - Please check the opening hours section or call us for details of their availability.
We no longer provide Somali interpreting at drop-in sessions at our St Pauls office, but interpreters in any language including British Sign Language, may be provided for pre-booked appointments, on request.
We also have a limited number of Home Visits available where appropriate - please contact us for further information and to discuss your needs.
The Advice Centre reception service provides access to information and resources and basic support including signposting and active referrals to other agencies where necessary. Our Somali receptionist is usually available on Monday afternoons, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday mornings.
